My motivation story of this art piece was drawn from my experience growing up in Lagos, where the sound of daily life transcend social class. The community shared a distinctive auditory landscape, marked by the calls of streets vendors and the rhythm of commerce. The sounds of elewa and age age bread were central to the environment, resonating with the collective memory of the city.Through this painting,I seek to capture the essence of those moments, illustrating the vibrancy and resilience of Lagos life.My intention is to evoke nostalgia while emphasizing the shared experience that connects us all, regardless of our backgrounds.
