My motivation for creating this artwork stems from the vibrant communities in various African towns and villages. In these settings, groups of individuals come together to celebrate significant life events such as birthdays, newborn ceremonies, marriages, chieftaincy titles, and funerals. These gatherings play a crucial role in fostering joy and connection among participants. The people travel from town to town and village to village, upholding their traditions and cultural practices of communal celebrations while maintaining a deep connection to their environment. Through this piece, I aim to capture the essence of these communal bonds and the rich tapestry of life that unfolds within these communities.
